"Climb Higher" is the drive to create premium, minimalist designs. But "Stay Grounded" is our anchor. It’s our commitment to substance over hype, quality over quantity, and purpose over profit. It's a promise that what we make is made the right way.

That's why we don't just use "organic cotton." We specifically choose GOTS-certified organic cotton.

For us, this isn't just a small detail; it's the entire foundation. Here's a quick breakdown of what GOTS certification actually means and why it matters so much to us (and to you).

 

What is GOTS?

 

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. It is, quite simply, the highest and most comprehensive certification for organic fibres in the world.

Unlike other labels that might just certify that the cotton was grown organically, GOTS audits the entire supply chain - from the seed in the ground to the final garment.

A product can only be GOTS-certified if it meets two strict sets of criteria: Environmental and Social.

 

1. The Environmental Standard (The "Organic" Promise)

 

This is the most well-known part. To be GOTS-certified, the fabric must be made from a minimum of 95% organic fibres. This means:

  • No GMO Seeds: Starting from a natural, non-modified source.

  • No Toxic Pesticides or Herbicides: Conventional cotton is one of the "dirtiest" crops in the world, responsible for a huge percentage of the world's most harmful pesticide use. GOTS-certified organic cotton farming relies on natural methods, like crop rotation and beneficial insects, to manage pests.

  • Healthier Soil & Biodiversity: Organic farming builds healthy, fertile soil that retains water better, reducing the need for excessive irrigation.

  • Safer Water: It strictly prohibits toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde, and other hazardous chemicals in the dyeing and finishing process, ensuring that the water runoff from factories is clean and safe.

 

2. The Social Standard (The "Ethical" Promise)

 

This is what makes GOTS truly different and what aligns perfectly with our ethos. It's not enough for a product to be eco-friendly if the people making it are exploited.

The GOTS social criteria are based on the key principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and are non-negotiable. They ensure:

  • Safe and Hygienic Working Conditions: Workers are protected from hazardous environments.

  • No Child Labour: An absolute, zero-tolerance policy.

  • Living Wages (Not Just Minimum Wages): Workers must be paid a wage that is sufficient to meet their basic needs and provide some discretionary income.

  • No Excessive Working Hours: Strictly regulated hours to prevent overwork.

  • No Discrimination: All workers are treated fairly, regardless of gender, race, or religion.

  • Freedom to Unionize: Workers have the right to organize and bargain collectively.
